The Apple MacBook Pro is more expensive but offers a superlative build quality, high screen color accuracy, and a lightweight, fanless design providing silent operation and excellent battery life; it excels in general use and is suitable for individuals needing a premium business laptop but not for intensive gaming. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 has a more accessible price tag, superior 3D and engineering performance due to its dedicated Nvidia graphics, a keyboard with a numeric pad and is better for gaming; however, it's heavier with a larger form factor and doesn't match the MacBook Pro's battery life or display quality. Choose the MacBook Pro for a mix of portability and performance in non-gaming tasks, or the IdeaPad for gaming and engineering work at the expense of higher weight and less battery efficiency. How the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 compare to other laptops
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is one of the most powerful RTX 3050 Ti laptops. If you disregard the mediocre quality of the case in terms of the material and workmanship, Lenovo has created a successful budget gaming laptop with the IdeaPad Gaming. Thanks to high TDPs and constant performance development, the Core i5-12500H and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti are able to show their full power, while in contrast, the (mostly slower) competitors deliver a better battery life. However, hardly any of the alternative laptops are able to reach the image quality of the Gaming 3. Most of the competitors are left behind in terms of the color space and brightness."
