If you prioritize performance for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, the HP Omen 15, with its powerful processor and high-end graphics card, is more suitable. However, it's heavier and has less battery life, making it less convenient for on-the-go use. On the other hand, the MacBook Pro 13 from 2022 is more portable due to its lighter weight and longer battery life, offers a more refined build quality, and is better for general use and lighter creative tasks with its efficient M2 chip, but doesn't excel in gaming or very intensive tasks. The HP Omen 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is only fair.
The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) has a lower-performing integrated M2 GPU, suitable for less demanding 3D tasks, and a lower 60Hz screen refresh rate which isn't ideal for fast-paced gaming, while the HP Omen 15 is equipped with a higher-performance Nvidia RTX 3070 dedicated GPU and a faster 144Hz screen refresh rate, making it superior for gaming and 3D applications; plus, the Omen supports a wider array of games due to Windows compatibility.

The Apple MacBook Pro 13 has a better screen than the HP Omen 15 for general use, engineering and design, and software development, while the HP Omen 15 has a better screen for gaming and AI.
Screen quality is more nuanced than just good or poor, but generally speaking, the Apple MacBook Pro's Retina display offers higher resolution and brightness, ensuring crisp and vibrant visuals for everyday tasks and professional design work, while its wider color gamut accurately reproduces colors essential for precision in engineering and design. The HP Omen 15, while having decent resolution and brightness for regular use and satisfactory color reproduction for technical work, falls short in screen quality for gaming and 3D applications due to a likely lower refresh rate, which is crucial for smooth motion rendering. Both machines, however, may not offer the extremely high refresh rates preferred for 3D rendering and gaming, where faster screen updates can significantly enhance the experience.

How the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and the HP Omen 15 compare to other laptops
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"We consider around 1,260 Euros (~$1530) for a Ryzen 7 4800H, a GeForce RTX 2060, a 512 GB SSD and 16 GB dual-channel RAM to be a good offer that appeals to price-conscious gamers. Very high details are rarely a problem in the native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. Buyers will also be spoiled with a top-notch battery life that even beats most other notebook classes. If HP now improves the speed of the WLAN module, the stability of the case and the repeatedly criticized picture quality, the competition will have to dress extra warmly."
