If you prioritize high performance for engineering tasks and need more storage out of the box, the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus is a strong choice as it comes with more RAM and storage capacity at a lower cost. However, the MacBook Pro 13 (2022) offers a balance of performance with the efficiency of the Apple M2 processor, leading to a longer battery life, and this model is known for silent operation due to its fanless design. Both are comparable in terms of weight, but the MacBook Pro is slightly slimmer, offering a bit more portability. For graphics-intensive tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, the MacBook's GPU is specifically tuned for its hardware, but don't expect it to outperform the Inspiron in these areas. The Inspiron is also suitable for gaming due to its Intel Iris Xe graphics, better than the MacBook for this purpose. The MacBook Pro delivers higher screen color accuracy and brightness, which could be important if your work involves color-sensitive tasks. Give Feedback

How the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus compare to other laptops
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus is for power users on a budget. If you're looking to maximize CPU and GPU performance on your next 14-inch laptop, then consider the pricier Razer Blade 14 or Asus Zephyrus G14. If you're looking for a thin-and-light 14-inch Ultrabook, then the Asus Zenbook 14 or LG Gram 14 may be better options. For the best of both worlds, however, the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus 7420 rides a fine line between extreme performance and portability while keeping prices at reasonable levels. Frequent travelers who rely on performance beyond what the Core U-series and integrated graphics series can offer will find the Dell to be a solid solution."
