The Apple MacBook Air is known for its sleek design, lightweight portability, and long battery life, which makes it a great option for general use and mobility. It runs macOS, which might be preferable if you use other Apple devices or require specific Mac-only software. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook S typically offers more flexibility with ports, better upgrade options, and may provide better value for money with high specs for its price, making it a solid choice for 3D, machine learning, or gaming tasks. However, it may be heavier and offer shorter battery life. If performance for engineering or intensive tasks is a priority, and you're okay with less portability and reduced battery life, the ASUS Vivobook S may better suit your needs. If you prioritize battery life, ease of carrying, and you're mostly doing general computing tasks, the MacBook Air is likely the better option. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Air 15 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook S 15 for general use, AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Apple MacBook Air likely boasts a high-resolution display with strong brightness and color accuracy, factors that enhance the viewing experience for both general users and professionals in engineering and design by providing crisp, vibrant visuals and fine detail. Its excellent screen quality for engineering and design suggests it offers a wide color gamut, ensuring that colors are faithfully reproduced, which is crucial for precision work in fields requiring color accuracy. Its poor quality for 3D tasks, however, indicates a lower refresh rate, which can hinder smooth rendering of quick-moving visuals, an essential aspect for gaming and 3D modeling.

The Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) and ASUS Vivobook S 15 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Apple MacBook Air 15 with an M2 GPU is limited in 3D performance and gaming because many popular games do not run on macOS; additionally, it has a screen with a standard refresh rate, which is less optimal for fast-paced gaming. In contrast, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 is equipped with an AMD Vega 8 GPU and, running Windows, does support a wider range of games, but it similarly features a standard screen refresh rate which doesn't fully cater to high-end gaming needs.

How the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) and the ASUS Vivobook S 15 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
"Internals make Asus VivoBook S15 laptop a compelling option. The Asus multimedia laptop may look rather below-average with its modest black chassis, lack of a dedicated GPU, limited RAM and meagre port selection without Thunderbolt support. But your impression of the device will start changing once you set your eyes on its high-contrast OLED capable of producing deep blacks and highly accurate colours. And your opinion will change completely when the VivoBook is switched on. The AMD CPU can effortlessly keep up with powerful rivals from Intel. The integrated Radeon graphics blows away Intel's iGPU when it comes to graphics workloads such as rendering and simpler games."
