The Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) is typically more suitable for general use, offering an excellent balance of portability, performance, and battery life, making it ideal for everyday tasks, business applications, and light media work. It is also known for its sleek design and seamless integration with other Apple products. On the other hand, the ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition is built for high-performance needs such as gaming, 3D rendering, and intensive engineering applications. While it offers superior graphics and processing power, it is heavier and has shorter battery life, making it less practical for on-the-go use. If your work demands cutting-edge performance and you're less concerned about portability and battery longevity, the ASUS is a good option; otherwise, the MacBook Air should more than suffice and comes with the benefit of a lower price. The ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition is good for gaming and AI, while the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition delivers a superior gaming experience thanks to its powerful AMD RX 6800M GPU and high screen refresh rate, essential for smooth and detailed gaming graphics, while the Apple MacBook Air 15's Apple M2 GPU is less capable for demanding 3D tasks, and also many popular games are not compatible with MacOS. Additionally, the MacBook's screen, although higher in quality for general use, is limited to a lower refresh rate which is not ideal for fast-paced gaming, unlike the ASUS's screen that supports a much higher refresh rate.

For general use, the MacBook Air offers a high-resolution display with a panel known for vivid colors and excellent brightness, making it easier to see crisp text and vibrant images in various lighting conditions. In engineering and design, the MacBook Air excels with wide color gamut coverage, which ensures accurate color representation critical for detailed work. However, for 3D tasks, it falls short as it lacks a high refresh rate display which is crucial for smooth rendering of fast-moving visuals, something the ASUS ROG Strix G15 also struggles with despite having good color accuracy and resolution for general use and design work.

How the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) and the ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
"The Asus ROG Strix G15, as the first in a line of "AMD Advantage"-branded notebooks, is a statement that yes, you can get a premium AMD gaming notebook. Maybe you can't have it all, but you can get pretty close. The ROG Strix G15's combination of the AMD Ryzen 5900HX and Radeon RX 6800M, as well as other technologies that take advantage of them, make a potent, thin gaming machine. Powerful Dolby Atmos speakers and long battery life when you aren't gaming are nice bonuses."
