The Apple MacBook Air (2022) is more affordable and portable, with longer battery life, ideal for everyday use and casual tasks. In contrast, the MSI Raider GE78 is pricier yet offers superior performance in intensive engineering, 3D modeling, gaming, or machine learning, with a bigger screen and more robust graphics. It's less portable due to its larger size and heavier weight. If performance in demanding applications is your priority, consider the MSI Raider GE78; however, for general use requiring portability and battery life, the MacBook Air may be more suitable. The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the Apple MacBook Air for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Apple MacBook Air's high-resolution and bright display, complemented by accurate colors, suits general use and engineering tasks, but its typical 60Hz refresh rate limits its appeal for 3D applications where smoother visuals are crucial. The MSI Raider, while also providing a vivid and sharp display for everyday activities and color-sensitive engineering work, may fall short for gaming and 3D due to a lower refresh rate that doesn't match the fluidity demanded by those fields. Screen quality in these cases is about finding the right balance between display features; for everyday tasks and design work, color accuracy, and resolution matter greatly, whereas for 3D and gaming, a higher refresh rate is key to an optimal experience.

How the Apple MacBook Air (2022) and the MSI Raider GE78 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
