If you're looking for a laptop with a strong emphasis on design, ecosystem integration, and a very user-friendly operating system, the Apple MacBook Air could be a great choice, but it does come at a higher price point. Its build quality and customer support are often praised, and it typically has long battery life, which is excellent for users on the go. On the other hand, the ASUS Zenbook 14 usually offers more value for money, with good performance and a variety of ports that might be useful for connectivity. It's a solid choice for those who need a Windows operating system for compatibility with specific software, especially in a business or engineering environment. If your workload includes more intensive tasks like 3D modeling, machine learning, or gaming, the Zenbook might provide better compatibility with a wider range of software options. However, you may find its battery life shorter than the MacBook Air. In summary, if cost is a significant factor and you need a Windows machine, the Zenbook is a strong option, but if you prefer a longer battery life and are invested in the Apple ecosystem, the MacBook Air is worth considering despite its higher price. The Apple MacBook Air (2022) and ASUS Zenbook 14 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The MacBook Air, with its Apple M2 GPU, offers moderate 3D performance suitable for non-intensive tasks, but it's limited by a lower screen refresh rate and the fact that many popular games don't run on macOS. In contrast, the ASUS Zenbook 14 with its Iris Xe GPU similarly provides fair gaming and 3D capabilities, and benefits from a higher screen refresh rate and compatibility with a wider range of games on Windows, but still may not satisfy serious gamers or professionals requiring advanced 3D performance.

How the Apple MacBook Air (2022) and the ASUS Zenbook 14 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
"Users who travel frequently and are looking for a portable laptop are in the right place with the Asus ZenBook 14. The sleek case is extremely light (1.2 kg) and surprisingly thin (1.5 cm). Outdoor use is also enjoyable thanks to the bright Full HD display, which is something that can rarely be said about laptops with TN or IPS panels. The excellent battery life complements this as well. Longer trips are no problem with the ZenBook 14. Another plus point is the high-performance Ryzen 7 5700U, which often leaves the Intel competition in the dust thanks to its large number of cores."
