The Acer Swift Go 14 is significantly less expensive and more portable with a weight conducive to travel, making it suitable for general use and tasks that are not heavily demanding. With modest performance capabilities, it delivers decent battery life and has a good keyboard. In contrast, the MSI Stealth GS77 commands a higher price due to its powerful hardware that excels in 3D rendering, machine learning, gaming, and other intensive tasks. It features a larger, higher-resolution screen, superior GPU performance, and additional features for connectivity and upgradeability, but it's heavier and less battery-efficient, so it's less ideal for frequent mobility. The MSI Stealth GS77 is very good for general use, while the Acer Swift Go 14 is good.
The Acer Swift Go 14 offers a compelling balance for general use with its impressive portability and sufficient performance from its CPU and RAM for everyday tasks, while the MSI Stealth GS77 delivers exceptional performance and screen quality ideal for the most demanding applications, but sacrifices some portability due to a larger screen and heavier build. The Swift's lighter weight and smaller form factor underscore its ease of carrying and longer battery life, while the Stealth excels in raw power and has higher quality speakers and a better keyboard, but these come at the expense of a shorter battery life and less portability.

The MSI Stealth GS77 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift Go 14 is only fair.
The MSI Stealth GS77 is outstanding for gaming and 3D tasks primarily because of its high-end Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU and very high screen refresh rate, essential for fluid visuals in intense gaming scenarios. In comparison, the Acer Swift Go 14 is just fair in these areas as it's equipped with a less powerful integrated GPU, the Intel Iris Xe, and a standard refresh rate screen, which are suitable for less demanding gaming and general use.

The MSI Stealth GS77 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Swift Go 14 is good.
The MSI Stealth GS77 stands out for engineering and design work due to its more powerful CPU, double the RAM, and a superior dedicated GPU compared to the integrated graphics of the Acer Swift Go 14; moreover, it has a larger, higher-resolution display, offering an improved visual experience suitable for detailed work. While the Swift Go 14 is lighter and more portable with a more compact screen, the Stealth GS77, although heavier and bulkier, compensates with more raw processing power and better screen quality, which are crucial for demanding engineering and design tasks.

The MSI Stealth GS77 has a better screen than the Acer Swift Go 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When considering general use, both the Acer Swift Go 14 and MSI Stealth GS77 have high-resolution screens and ample brightness, making for clear and vivid displays suitable for everyday tasks. For those engaged in engineering and design work, the MSI stands out with its wider color gamut offering more accurate color representation, which is crucial for detailed and color-sensitive work, though the Acer Swift Go 14 still provides respectable performance in this regard. However, for 3D purposes, the lower refresh rates on both prevent them from being ideal for smooth motion rendering, which is essential in gaming and certain 3D applications.

How the Acer Swift Go 14 and the MSI Stealth GS77 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Swift Go 14 is a surprising machine. Its performance, display, and battery life leave little to be desired from a device at this price. You might think it’d be cheaper given the “Go” in the name, or thinner given its close competition with thin-and-light laptops, but it manages to strike a decent enough balance between its capabilities and hardware to really stand out as an exceptional value."
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
