The Acer Swift Go 14 is generally a more budget-friendly option that offers a balance of portability and decent performance, suitable for everyday tasks and light productivity. It's lighter and thinner, making it a good match for someone who needs to carry their laptop around. However, the Lenovo Legion 5 15" is geared towards more intensive use such as gaming, 3D modeling, and engineering software, thanks to its powerful graphics card. It has a higher resolution screen with a faster refresh rate, which is great for visual clarity and smoothness in games and videos, but it's heavier and bulkier, which may not be ideal for frequent travel. The Legion also tends to have a better build quality and cooling system, necessary for handling more demanding tasks. Both laptops have similar memory and storage, so your decision should hinge more on whether you prioritize performance for resource-intensive applications or portability and budget-friendliness. The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift Go 14 is only fair.
The Acer Swift Go 14 has a less capable integrated GPU with a lower screen refresh rate making it fair for gaming and 3D applications, while the Lenovo Legion 5 15" includes a dedicated high-end Nvidia GPU and a screen with a higher refresh rate, offering a good experience for such demands. Although both laptops have similar CPUs and screen quality, the dedicated GPU and higher refresh rate screen in the Lenovo are particularly beneficial for gaming and 3D uses.

The Acer Swift Go 14 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion 5 15" for software development, while the Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Acer Swift Go 14 provides a balanced screen suitable for everyday tasks and engineering work due to its resolution and color accuracy, but it may not provide the high refresh rate needed for fluid motion in gaming and 3D applications. The Lenovo Legion 5 15", with its strong color performance and resolution, meets the requirements for both general use and the color-specific needs of engineering and design, but its lower refresh rate might not be ideal for high-frame-rate gaming. For pure gamers or professionals in 3D modeling, a laptop with a higher refresh rate would be preferable to ensure smoother visuals and a more immersive experience.

How the Acer Swift Go 14 and the Lenovo Legion 5 15" compare to other laptops
"The Acer Swift Go 14 is a surprising machine. Its performance, display, and battery life leave little to be desired from a device at this price. You might think it’d be cheaper given the “Go” in the name, or thinner given its close competition with thin-and-light laptops, but it manages to strike a decent enough balance between its capabilities and hardware to really stand out as an exceptional value."
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
