For general use, the Acer Swift 14 offers a larger screen with higher resolution and better color accuracy, which is great for everyday tasks and media consumption. It's also slightly more powerful for general computing thanks to its Intel i7-13700H processor. However, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 13.5" has a higher refresh rate screen at 120Hz, making for smoother visuals, and it's typically a bit less expensive. When it comes to performance for demanding tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning, the Acer's Intel i7-13700H with Iris Xe graphics will provide better performance than the Surface Laptop's Intel Core Ultra 7 135H with Arc 8-Cores graphics. The Acer is also a better choice for engineering tasks due to its superior CPU and GPU capabilities. In terms of portability, the Surface Laptop is slightly lighter and thinner, which might be a deciding factor if you're often on the move. Battery life is comparable, with both laptops offering around 9 hours of typical usage. The Surface Laptop comes with Windows 11 Pro, which might be preferable for business users, while the Acer Swift 14 has Windows 11 Home. The Surface Laptop also has a better contrast ratio, which can make for a more enjoyable viewing experience in well-lit environments. Ultimately, if you prioritize performance and screen quality for tasks like gaming or engineering, the Acer Swift 14 is the way to go. But if you value a lighter, thinner design, a higher refresh rate screen, and are looking for a more cost-effective option, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 13.5" would be a better fit. Give Feedback

Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Acer Swift 14 is good for school use. Its compact design makes it easy to carry around, and its battery lasts easily through a typical school day. You can configure the laptop with an FHD+ or QHD+ display; both look sharp and get bright enough to combat glare. The keyboard feels tactile but can be a little tiring to type on over an extended period, and while the touchpad is small, it's responsive to all movements and gestures. Its Intel 13th Gen. CPU can handle nearly every type of workload; however, its integrated graphics perform poorly, so it isn't ideal for students in technical fields like 3D graphics."
