For a balance of performance and portability with a high-quality screen suitable for general use and some light engineering tasks, the Acer Swift 14 is a solid choice. It offers a capable Intel i7 processor and a bright, high-resolution display with accurate color reproduction, which is great for everyday tasks and some professional work. However, it's not designed for intensive gaming or advanced 3D rendering. On the other hand, if you prioritize a superior display experience and versatility, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 with its OLED screen provides vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it exceptional for media consumption and creative work. Its 2-in-1 design adds flexibility, allowing you to use it as a tablet. The Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is efficient and suitable for general use, but it may not match the raw performance of the Intel i7 in the Acer for certain tasks like heavy engineering software. Battery life is also longer in the Samsung, enhancing its portability. Consider the Acer for better general performance and a more traditional laptop experience, while the Samsung is ideal for those who value a stunning display and the convenience of a convertible form factor. Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Acer Swift 14 is good for school use. Its compact design makes it easy to carry around, and its battery lasts easily through a typical school day. You can configure the laptop with an FHD+ or QHD+ display; both look sharp and get bright enough to combat glare. The keyboard feels tactile but can be a little tiring to type on over an extended period, and while the touchpad is small, it's responsive to all movements and gestures. Its Intel 13th Gen. CPU can handle nearly every type of workload; however, its integrated graphics perform poorly, so it isn't ideal for students in technical fields like 3D graphics."
