If your primary concern is value and portability, consider the Acer Swift 14. It's less expensive than the MSI Raider GE66, lighter, and has a more compact form. The Swift 14 provides decent everyday performance and is well-suited for general use with a high-resolution display and competent integrated graphics. However, if you require high-performance capabilities for gaming, 3D modeling, or machine learning, the MSI Raider GE66 would be more appropriate, boasting a potent dedicated graphics card and a faster refresh screen for smoother visuals. This model, albeit more costly and heavier, would be advantageous for more demanding applications and tasks. The tradeoff between these two models is primarily between cost, portability, and general use (Acer Swift 14) versus investment in higher performance for specialized purposes (MSI Raider GE66). How the Acer Swift 14 and the MSI Raider GE66 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Acer Swift 14 is good for school use. Its compact design makes it easy to carry around, and its battery lasts easily through a typical school day. You can configure the laptop with an FHD+ or QHD+ display; both look sharp and get bright enough to combat glare. The keyboard feels tactile but can be a little tiring to type on over an extended period, and while the touchpad is small, it's responsive to all movements and gestures. Its Intel 13th Gen. CPU can handle nearly every type of workload; however, its integrated graphics perform poorly, so it isn't ideal for students in technical fields like 3D graphics."
"The MSI Raider GE66 12UHS notebook passes with flying colors. The GE66 is a high-end notebook with strong performance. The keyboard and trackpad are still very good and score well with precise inputs as well as high build quality. Thanks to a new liquid metal cooling solution, the Intel Core i9 12900HK brings a performance increase of around 50 percent over the predecessor's Intel Core i9 10980HK. The installed graphics card in our device delivers up to 30 percent higher frame rates than the RTX 2070 Super in the MSI GE66 10SFS."
