Choosing between the Acer Swift 14 and Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 will depend on your priorities. If a more vibrant, higher resolution display and a stronger performance for generalized use are important to you, along with a somewhat higher price, the Acer Swift 14 may be more suitable. For tasks related to 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 offers solid performance at a lower price, but you'll compromise on storage space and screen resolution. Both are quite portable, though the Lenovo has a slight edge in battery life and portability. The choice also comes down to design preferences: the Acer is more expensive and performs better in most areas, while the Lenovo is more budget-friendly with a premium business laptop appearance and additional features like a fingerprint reader and facial recognition. The Acer Swift 14 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the Acer Swift 14 and Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 offer panels with sufficient resolution and brightness, providing clear and vibrant visuals suitable for everyday tasks. Engineers and designers may prefer the Acer Swift 14's display since it covers a broader range of colors, essential for precise color work, but the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 also delivers good color fidelity. However, when it comes to gaming and 3D applications, neither laptop excels because their screens do not have high refresh rates, which are crucial for smooth motion and quick response times in fast-paced visual environments.

How the Acer Swift 14 and the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Acer Swift 14 is good for school use. Its compact design makes it easy to carry around, and its battery lasts easily through a typical school day. You can configure the laptop with an FHD+ or QHD+ display; both look sharp and get bright enough to combat glare. The keyboard feels tactile but can be a little tiring to type on over an extended period, and while the touchpad is small, it's responsive to all movements and gestures. Its Intel 13th Gen. CPU can handle nearly every type of workload; however, its integrated graphics perform poorly, so it isn't ideal for students in technical fields like 3D graphics."
"In the premium ultraportable space, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 competes with the best of the best, and still manages to shine. The design is an impressive departure from the bland bare-metal laptop that's become so popular in recent years, and the AMD-powered system has performance that's just as impressive. It's a stark alternative to the Intel-based majority, and it stands up well enough to the impressive Apple M2 processor."
