The Gigabyte Aero 16 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift 14 is only fair.
The Acer Swift 14, with its integrated Iris Xe graphics, offers decent gaming and 3D performance suitable for less demanding titles, while the Gigabyte Aero 16 comes with a powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti, which provides high-end gaming and 3D rendering capabilities. Both laptops have similar screen refresh rates, but the premium GPU in the Aero 16 will deliver better frame rates and visuals in resource-intensive scenarios, along with features like DLSS for improved performance.

The Gigabyte Aero 16 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Swift 14 is good.
The Gigabyte Aero 16 stands out for engineering and design with its superior GPU, the Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti, a larger, more vivid high-resolution OLED screen, and double the storage capacity compared to the Acer Swift 14, but it sacrifices portability due to a heavier build and reduced battery life. While the Acer Swift 14 is a solid choice with a capable CPU and high-quality IPS touchscreen, it falls short on raw graphical power and screen clarity, which are paramount for heavy design tasks, despite its advantages in portability and longer battery life.

The Acer Swift 14 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aero 16 for software development, while the Gigabyte Aero 16 has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Acer Swift 14 offers a screen that is clear and bright enough for everyday tasks and has a resolution that makes text and images sharp; however, its refresh rate isn't high enough to provide the smooth visuals needed for high-end gaming or fast-paced 3D applications. The Gigabyte Aero 16's screen boasts extensive color coverage, crucial for precision in engineering and design work, with a high-resolution display enhancing detail, but similarly falls short for gaming due to a lower refresh rate. General users will find both screens more than adequate, but professionals in engineering, design, and gamers seeking fluid motion graphics would likely lean towards specialized laptops catering to their specific needs.

How the Acer Swift 14 and the Gigabyte Aero 16 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Acer Swift 14 is good for school use. Its compact design makes it easy to carry around, and its battery lasts easily through a typical school day. You can configure the laptop with an FHD+ or QHD+ display; both look sharp and get bright enough to combat glare. The keyboard feels tactile but can be a little tiring to type on over an extended period, and while the touchpad is small, it's responsive to all movements and gestures. Its Intel 13th Gen. CPU can handle nearly every type of workload; however, its integrated graphics perform poorly, so it isn't ideal for students in technical fields like 3D graphics."
"The Gigabyte Aero 16 is a workstation laptop for light gaming. It's design is still muted, with a silver chassis alongside a black keyboard and trackpad that provides some contrast. The Gigabyte Aero’s full-size chiclet-style keyboard is enjoyable to type on thanks to its snappy feel and responsiveness. The 4K+ AMOLED display is good, but it could be better. It doesn’t handle true black very well and suffers from strong reflections and glare. The Gigabyte Aero excels at productivity performance and can keep up with other gaming laptops in 1080p. But it has very few ports and its refresh rate leaves a bit to be desired."
