The Acer Swift 14 offers better performance due to a more powerful CPU and integrated graphics, useful for intensive tasks like video editing or 3D modeling. It also has more storage space, a sharper display, and is slightly lighter, enhancing its portability. However, the Dell Inspiron 14 5420 is less expensive and includes a dedicated graphics card, making it better suited for casual gaming or graphic design. It also provides professional-grade software with Windows 11 Pro. Choose the Acer for high-performance tasks and better portability, or the Dell for graphics-related tasks and cost savings. How the Acer Swift 14 and the Dell Inspiron 14 5420 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Acer Swift 14 is good for school use. Its compact design makes it easy to carry around, and its battery lasts easily through a typical school day. You can configure the laptop with an FHD+ or QHD+ display; both look sharp and get bright enough to combat glare. The keyboard feels tactile but can be a little tiring to type on over an extended period, and while the touchpad is small, it's responsive to all movements and gestures. Its Intel 13th Gen. CPU can handle nearly every type of workload; however, its integrated graphics perform poorly, so it isn't ideal for students in technical fields like 3D graphics."
"If laptops were food, then the Dell Inspiron 14 5420 is arguably a Big Mac. There are cheaper and more expensive options, but this arguably represents the baseline of quality and value in the world of mobile computing… something that’s underlined by the attractive $1,279 price tag."
