The Acer Predator Helios 300 is less expensive and has solid performance for general use, but the MSI Raider GE78, while significantly pricier, offers much greater power for 3D, machine learning, and engineering tasks. The Raider also has a larger, higher-resolution screen with a better refresh rate, which along with superior color coverage, makes it ideal for gaming and professional creative work. However, the Helios is lighter and may be more convenient to carry around, and it still can handle gaming and demanding applications, albeit not as powerfully as the Raider. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE78 is best in class for gaming and AI, while the Acer Predator Helios 300 is good.
The MSI Raider GE78 far outshines the Acer Predator Helios 300 in terms of gaming and 3D capabilities due to its more powerful Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU and a higher screen refresh rate of 240Hz, compared to the Helios 300's Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU and 144Hz refresh rate. While the Helios 300 provides good value for standard gaming, the Raider GE78 offers superior performance and smoother visuals which are particularly beneficial for fast-paced games and professional 3D work.

The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the Acer Predator Helios 300 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize a high-resolution display with bright, crisp visuals for everyday tasks and professional design work, both the Acer Predator Helios 300 and MSI Raider GE78 offer impressive screens that excel in these areas. However, while these laptops may have excellent color accuracy, crucial for engineering and design software, their lower refresh rates mean they won't be as suitable for gaming and 3D applications, where smooth motion and quick screen updates are key. The Acer and MSI models are likely to have slower screen refresh rates, making them less ideal for fast-paced gaming despite their strong performance in other visual aspects.

"The Acer Predator Helios 300 review is an overclocked gaming laptop with a good display. The Predator is large, heavy, and loud, but also offers plenty of performance according to gamers. An overclocked gaming laptop - or its user - also has to struggle with the usual disadvantages we mentioned above. On the other hand, overclocking is optional, and those who like it quieter and can live with a few less frames per second can also switch to the significantly more moderate Standard mode. Then the Helios 300 won't be any louder than the competitors."
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
