If you prioritize performance for tasks like intensive engineering work or gaming, the Acer Predator Helios 300 would be a better choice as it is equipped with a more powerful processor and graphics card. It also has more memory and storage, but this comes with a bigger size and higher weight, which makes it less portable compared to the MSI GF63 Thin. The MSI laptop is lighter, making it more convenient to carry around, and it has a slightly longer battery life for general use, but it compromises on performance with a less powerful processor and graphics card, less memory, and storage space. The MSI GF63 Thin would be suitable for less demanding tasks and general use. If budget is a concern, the MSI is also less expensive but keep in mind the performance and future-proofing trade-offs. The Acer Predator Helios 300 has a better screen than the MSI GF63 Thin for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the Acer Predator Helios 300 stands out with its higher resolution and brighter display, ensuring crisp and vibrant visuals, while the MSI GF63 Thin's display meets basic needs with acceptable clarity and brightness. When it comes to engineering and design, the Acer has superior color coverage crucial for accurate design work, whereas the MSI performs decently but may not display colors as true-to-life for professional design tasks. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rate of both laptops could lead to less fluid motion, with neither being optimal for high-speed gaming that demands quick screen updates for smooth visuals.

How the Acer Predator Helios 300 and the MSI GF63 Thin compare to other laptops
"The Acer Predator Helios 300 review is an overclocked gaming laptop with a good display. The Predator is large, heavy, and loud, but also offers plenty of performance according to gamers. An overclocked gaming laptop - or its user - also has to struggle with the usual disadvantages we mentioned above. On the other hand, overclocking is optional, and those who like it quieter and can live with a few less frames per second can also switch to the significantly more moderate Standard mode. Then the Helios 300 won't be any louder than the competitors."
"If you leave aside the meagre port selection (no card reader, no DisplayPort, no Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen2), the fan control that could be improved (idle mode!) and the relatively dark and slow display, the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC does not have any major weaknesses. The 15-inch gamer is compact, has a low weight and offers a good price-to-performance ratio, which should please gamers that are looking for both a portable and an affordable gaming notebook. Input devices, battery life, case quality and performance are all appropriate for this purchase price."
