The Acer Predator Helios 300 integrates an Intel i7 CPU and Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU which provide solid performance for engineering and design tasks, but the ASUS ROG Strix G17's AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU deliver superior performance, enabling more intensive work and faster processing. Despite both having high-quality screens, the ASUS offers a larger, higher resolution screen that enhances detail and workspace, although its greater size and weight make it less portable than the more compact Acer.

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Acer Predator Helios 300 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Predator Helios 300, with its quality panel type, resolution, and brightness, provides a clear and vibrant display for everyday tasks and professional engineering software, ensuring that visuals are sharp and colors accurate for designs. Meanwhile, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers similar benefits, with a higher quality display that enhances these attributes, making it ideal for tasks that require precise color representation and detail visibility, which is vital for engineering and design professionals. However, both laptops fall short for gaming and 3D applications due to their lower refresh rates, which can affect the smoothness and responsiveness of fast-paced visuals, a key element in those activities.

"The Acer Predator Helios 300 review is an overclocked gaming laptop with a good display. The Predator is large, heavy, and loud, but also offers plenty of performance according to gamers. An overclocked gaming laptop - or its user - also has to struggle with the usual disadvantages we mentioned above. On the other hand, overclocking is optional, and those who like it quieter and can live with a few less frames per second can also switch to the significantly more moderate Standard mode. Then the Helios 300 won't be any louder than the competitors."
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
