The Acer Nitro 5 17 is often significantly less expensive than the MSI Stealth GS66 and offers a slightly larger screen, more storage, and a powerful GPU suitable for gaming. However, it is heavier and has a shorter battery life, which might limit its portability. On the other hand, the MSI Stealth GS66, while more expensive, is lighter and more portable, with a higher battery capacity and premium features such as more USB-C ports, including Thunderbolt, and a higher quality keyboard. Both have powerful processors and GPUs for general use, 3D work, and engineering tasks, although the MSI has newer CPUs, which might offer an edge in performance. If budget is a concern and you need more storage and screen size for gaming, go for the Acer. If you prefer better portability, battery life, and premium features, consider the MSI despite its higher cost. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 5 17 has a better screen than the MSI Stealth GS66 for general use.
The Acer Nitro 5 17 offers a large screen with high resolution and satisfactory brightness, providing clarity and detail for everyday tasks, but it may not offer the color accuracy needed for professional design work or the high refresh rates desired by gamers. The MSI Stealth GS66, while offering a similar level of resolution and adequate brightness for daily use, also may fall short on delivering the expansive color range and precision that engineers and designers require, as well as the rapid refresh rates for a seamless gaming experience. Hence, both models are competent for general activities and can handle the demands of engineering and design to an extent but may disappoint avid gamers looking for fluid motion and fast-paced action.

The Acer Nitro 5 17 and MSI Stealth GS66 are both good for general use.
The Acer Nitro 5 17 offers a solid overall experience for general use with its large screen, ample RAM, and respectable CPU; however, it is less portable due to its larger size and weight, with compromised battery life. On the other hand, the MSI Stealth GS66, while having similar RAM and a robust CPU that makes it very suitable for general use, stems its advantage from better portability courtesy of its lighter weight and more compact size, but has less storage capacity out-of-the-box.

How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the MSI Stealth GS66 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"The MSI Stealth GS66 is powerful enough for QHD. The Core i7-12700H and the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti found in the 12UGS model that we tested run all modern games smoothly in the native QHD resolution. The 15-inch display is very fast with its 240 Hz refresh rate, and it also offers a great color space (almost 100% DCI-P3) on top of that, which should please gamers as well as content creators, although we would have still wished for a higher brightness. Case, input devices, and connectivity (Thunderbolt 4) are at a good level. However, among other things, the GS66 loses points due to the high temperature development in 3D mode and its poor webcam."
