If portability and better battery life are important to you, then the Lenovo Slim 7 16 would be a suitable choice, as it is lighter and typically offers more hours of use between charges. On the other hand, if you need higher performance for gaming, 3D, machine learning, or engineering tasks, the Acer Nitro 5 17 is equipped with a more powerful graphics card. Additionally, the Nitro 5 has a larger screen but is heavier, which could be a downside if you plan to carry the laptop around frequently. The Lenovo Slim 7 also benefits from a touchscreen and a higher resolution display, which might enhance your experience if you value screen clarity and touch capability. However, you'll find the Acer Nitro 5 to be more cost-effective if budget considerations are a top priority and you require more built-in storage. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 5 17 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo Slim 7 16 is only fair.
The Acer Nitro 5 17 offers superior graphics handling for gaming and 3D applications with its higher-end Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU combined with a very high screen refresh rate. The Acer Nitro 5 17 has a better screen than the Lenovo Slim 7 16 for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo Slim 7 16 has a better screen for general use, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, a laptop like the Acer Nitro 5 17 with a bright and high-resolution display will offer a clear and vibrant viewing experience, but for gaming and 3D applications where refresh rate is crucial, its lower refresh rate leads to less fluid motion. The Lenovo Slim 7 16, with very good color accuracy and a sharp display, is ideal for engineering and design tasks that require precise color reproduction. However, similar to the Acer, its lower refresh rate makes it less suitable for gaming and 3D work that benefit from smoother visuals offered by higher refresh rate screens.

How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the Lenovo Slim 7 16 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"At $1,011, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro is a real bargain among full-sized laptops, with a handsome 16-inch, 16:10 aspect ratio touch screen, a speedy CPU, a comfortable keyboard, ample memory, and a roomy solid-state drive. It's not a blazing gaming rig or mobile workstation, but it doesn't pretend to be. Its biggest negative is that it may be hard to find—during our review, it sold out and was marked "Temporarily Unavailable" on Lenovo's site."
