When deciding between the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, consider that the Acer has a stronger GPU suitable for intensive gaming and 3D machine learning, but it's bulkier and has a shorter battery life. The Lenovo offers a sharper, higher-resolution display and a lighter, more portable design with longer battery life, making it more suited for general use and multitasking on the go. Both laptops have similar RAM and are priced closely, but the Acer has more storage and is better equipped for engineering tasks due to its higher performance hardware. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 5 17 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is good.
The Acer Nitro 5 17, with a high-end AMD Ryzen CPU and Nvidia RTX GPU, excels in engineering and design tasks due to its superior processing and graphical capabilities, although its bulkier size and heavier weight reduce portability. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, while still good for similar use cases thanks to a competent Intel CPU and integrated graphics, offers a higher-resolution display and better portability, but it may not handle the most demanding tasks as efficiently as the Acer.

When considering the Acer Nitro 5 17 for general use, its high resolution and brightness provide crisp and clear visuals, which are less impressive for gaming and 3D due to its lower refresh rate. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, with its high resolution and exceptional color accuracy, excels for both general use and engineering design work, but like the Acer, its screen falls short for gaming and 3D applications because of its lower refresh rate. For users focused on engineering and design tasks, the Lenovo IdeaPad stands out due to its wider color gamuts, ensuring more precise color representation.

How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."
