When comparing the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the HP Omen 16, consider that the Acer offers high-end graphics performance which might be better for demanding games and intensive tasks, but it's heavier and has a lower battery life, making it less portable. The HP Omen 16, on the other hand, provides a balance of performance with a newer CPU and slightly improved portability due to its lower weight and longer battery life. Despite the HP Omen having a smaller screen, it offers a higher screen refresh rate, which can result in smoother visuals, particularly beneficial for gaming. If cost is a primary concern and you need top graphics performance, the Acer might be more suitable, while the HP is a more balanced option for a mix of portability and performance, albeit at a typically higher price point. How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the HP Omen 16 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
