If you prioritize gaming or intensive tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning, the Acer Nitro 5 17, with a more powerful GPU and a larger screen, will handle these better. Its larger size, however, reduces its portability, and the battery life is shorter compared to the Framework Laptop. On the other hand, the Framework Laptop 13 (2023), while more expensive and less suitable for high-end gaming or engineering software, is more portable due to its lower weight and smaller size. It has a higher resolution display with better color accuracy, making it ideal for everyday use and professional tasks that rely on display quality. It also offers slightly longer battery life and a more modern operating system out of the box. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 5 17 has a better screen than the Framework Laptop 13 for general use, gaming and AI, and content creation, while the Framework Laptop 13 has a better screen for content creation.
The Acer Nitro 5 17's larger screen with vibrant colors, high resolution, and ample brightness makes it appealing for daily tasks and detail-oriented work in engineering and design, where color representation is key. However, its relatively lower refresh rate limits its appeal for gaming and 3D applications, where smooth motion is critical. In comparison, the Framework Laptop 13, while offering similar benefits in terms of color accuracy and resolution for general use and professional design tasks, also shares the limitation of a lower refresh rate, less than ideal for the high-frame-rate requirements of gaming and 3D content.

How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the Framework Laptop 13 (2023) compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"If you’re thinking of investing in your first Framework, now is the time. The kinks and rough edges have all been smoothed out and this is a very nice machine with a bright, upgradable future. The only reason I can think of to wait is the AMD model, which I’ll be sure to test as soon as I can get my hands on one."
