The Acer Nitro 5 17 is often less expensive and features a more powerful GPU, which makes it suitable for intensive gaming and engineering tasks that require high graphics performance. However, it's larger and heavier which reduces its portability. The ASUS Zenbook Pro 15, on the other hand, is more portable due to its lighter weight and smaller size, and it offers a longer battery life. Its OLED screen with touch capability provides better color coverage and sharper image for creative work, but it has a less powerful GPU than the Acer Nitro, which might limit performance for demanding 3D, machine learning, and gaming tasks. Choose the Acer if gaming and high performance are your priority, or the ASUS if you need better portability, battery life, and screen quality for general and creative uses. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | August 2021
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."

NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | May 2022
"The ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 offers a strong CPU, chassis, and display. One of the most popular 15.6-inch prosumer or multimedia laptops out there is the Dell XPS 15. Thus, comparisons between it and the Asus Zenbook Pro 15 are inevitable. Asus has a couple of tricks up its sleeve that XPS users are still missing out on including 1080p OLED and an AMD Ryzen CPU which help separate the Zenbook Pro 15 from the XPS 15. It also integrates a numpad and a few more port options albeit at the cost of a larger chassis size."
