The Acer Nitro 5 17, while less expensive, offers a large 17.3-inch display, powerful AMD Ryzen and Nvidia RTX 3080 graphics, making it suitable for demanding tasks like gaming or engineering software but it's heavier and less portable. The Predator Triton 300 costs more, has a faster Intel CPU, a more portable 15.6-inch screen, and Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics which are sufficient for general use and most 3D tasks, with a lighter build, better for carrying around. Consider the Nitro 5 for performance at the cost of portability, or the Triton for balance between performance and portability. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 5 17 has a better screen than the Acer Predator Triton 300 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
When considering the Acer Nitro 5 17 and Predator Triton 300 for general use, both laptops have adequate resolution and brightness, making images and videos clear and viewable in various lighting. For engineering and design, while they both offer good color accuracy covering a range of the color spectrum necessary for detailed and color-sensitive work, neither is excellent in color gamuts compared to specialized design laptops. The lesser screen quality for gaming and 3D on both laptops is due to the lower refresh rates, which could lead to less fluid motion and responsiveness during high-speed gaming or 3D rendering.

How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the Acer Predator Triton 300 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"In our particular review configuration, the Acer Predator Triton 300 turned out to be a fairly powerful gaming notebook. Both CPU and GPU performance were at a high level, and the aluminum case turned out to be fairly robust. Only the display lid could have been a bit more robust. For customers on a budget that do not mind tinkering with the device’s fan management the Acer Predator Triton 300 can be worth a closer look."
