The Acer Nitro 5 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Apple MacBook Pro 16 (Late 2019) is only fair.
The Acer Nitro 5 15 has a dedicated GPU and a high screen refresh rate which are essential for smooth gaming and handling 3D applications effectively, making it a strong choice for these tasks. On the other hand, the Apple MacBook Pro 16 (Late 2019) has a less powerful GPU and a lower refresh rate screen, which together with the limitation that many popular games are not compatible with macOS, makes it less suitable for gaming and advanced 3D work despite its good CPU and high-quality screen.

The Apple MacBook Pro 16 has a better screen than the Acer Nitro 5 15 for general use, AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Nitro 5 15's screen delivers sharp images and decent brightness suitable for browsing and video streaming, but it may lack the wider color ranges needed for precision engineering work, and the refresh rate isn't high enough for smooth 3D gaming experiences. The Apple MacBook Pro 16's screen excels in brightness, resolution, and color accuracy, making it excellent for both general use and professional design where color fidelity is crucial, but similar to the Acer, it's not optimized for gaming due to a lower refresh rate that can't match what dedicated gaming laptops offer. For someone who prioritizes a high-quality display for work and entertainment but not necessarily for gaming, the MacBook Pro stands out, while the Acer Nitro 5 15 offers a balance suitable for everyday use and non-specialized tasks.

How the Acer Nitro 5 15 and the Apple MacBook Pro 16 (Late 2019) compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."
"The Apple MacBook Pro 16 2023: M2 Max challenges GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The new MacBook Pro 16 2023 with the M2 Max SoC is the most powerful laptop Apple has on sale right now. While we do not get the expected performance and efficiency improvements from completely new 3 nm chips, which we expected ahead of the launch, the 2023 model is still a solid update. The CPU of the M2 Max can be up to 20 % faster than the old model and we also see an advantage of 25-30 % for the GPU with 38 cores. However, both components also consume more power, so the efficiency did not change that much under maximum load."
