The Acer Aspire Vero 15 offers a lower midrange price point and is often significantly less expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16. It has a decent performance for general use and engineering tasks with its Intel i7 processor and 16GB of RAM, though it may struggle with more intensive 3D rendering or machine learning tasks due to its integrated Iris Xe graphics. The 15.6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 is suitable for everyday use, but it lacks touchscreen capabilities and has a lower pixel density compared to the Samsung. It's a good choice for those who prioritize budget and general productivity. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 comes at a midrange price and often costs significantly more. It boasts a high-resolution 16-inch OLED display with touchscreen, offering vibrant colors and deep contrasts, making it excellent for media consumption and tasks that benefit from a superior screen, such as photo editing. The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor and Adreno 750 graphics provide good performance for general use and better handling of 3D tasks and machine learning compared to the Acer. It's also more portable due to its thinner and lighter design, and it includes a 2-in-1 convertible feature for added versatility. In summary, if you value a superior display, touchscreen functionality, portability, and better performance in 3D and machine learning tasks, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 is the way to go, despite its higher price. However, if you're looking for a more budget-friendly option that still offers solid general performance and is suitable for light engineering work, the Acer Aspire Vero 15 is a sensible choice. Matt Elliott | October 2021
"The Acer Aspire Vero is an eco-friendly Windows 11 laptop. Made with PCR plastic, the Acer Aspire Vero stands out from the midrange laptop pack with a funky, eco-friendly design. Powering Microsoft’s latest operating system is a Core i7 chip from Intel’s latest series, integrated Intel Xe graphics, and an ample 16GB of RAM. The laptop feels snappy, but its battery life disappoints. I also have a few quibbles with the display and keyboard, but they’re relatively minor. With a longer runtime, the Aspire Vero would earn a stronger recommendation for students or anyone looking for an eco-friendly, big-screen laptop."
