For general use, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 offers a superior OLED display with higher resolution and better color accuracy, which is great for media consumption and everyday tasks. It's also more portable due to its smaller size and longer battery life. However, it comes at a higher price point. The Acer Aspire 5 17, on the other hand, is more budget-friendly and features a larger 17.3-inch screen, which might be preferable if you value screen real estate for less intensive tasks.
When it comes to performance, the Samsung with its Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor and 16GB of RAM will provide smoother multitasking and better overall performance compared to the Acer's Intel i5-1335U and 8GB of RAM. This makes the Samsung a better choice for more demanding applications, including light 3D tasks and machine learning tasks.
For engineering tasks, the Samsung's better performance and higher quality display make it a more suitable choice, despite the Acer's larger screen. The Samsung's superior build quality and additional features like a touchscreen and facial recognition add to its appeal for professional use.
If portability, performance, and display quality are your priorities and you're willing to pay a premium for them, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 is the way to go. However, if you're looking for a budget-friendly laptop with a large screen for general use, the Acer Aspire 5 17 is a more cost-effective option. Give Feedback

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
