For general use, the Acer Aspire 5 17 and Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 offer similar capabilities, but different experiences. The Acer has a larger screen and a numeric keypad which may be beneficial for productivity tasks, albeit it is heavier and thus less portable. The Surface Laptop Go 3 has a smaller touchscreen, better portability due to its lighter weight and compact size, and superior build and speaker quality. If you need more on-the-go use and prefer a touch interface, the Surface is a better fit. However, if screen size matters more and you work primarily in one place, the Acer may be more suitable. Both have adequate performance for everyday tasks, but for more storage and a larger display, choose the Acer; for better portability and a touch screen, go with the Surface. Give Feedback

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"When it comes to affordably priced laptops, the numbers after the dollar sign are crucially important—more so than in any other price category. By increasing the starting price of its Laptop Go line by $200 and not changing much else, Microsoft irrevocably altered the calculus surrounding the decision of whether to buy the Surface Laptop Go 3. Sure, it has a newer processor and longer battery life, but don’t think for a second you’re not paying dearly for that extra RAM and SSD capacity at that new price."
