The Acer Aspire 5 17 is more budget-friendly and provides a larger 17.3-inch screen with a decent battery life, suitable for general tasks, and has a number pad; however, it has a lower storage capacity, less RAM, and a less powerful processor than the Lenovo. The Lenovo ThinkPad Z16, on the other hand, is more expensive but offers a premium experience with a high-resolution OLED touchscreen, significantly more storage and RAM, and a more powerful processor suitable for 3D work, machine learning, and more intensive engineering tasks. Its high color accuracy and contrast ratio make it well-suited for tasks that require color fidelity. The ThinkPad also excels in portability due to its lighter weight despite the smaller screen size. Choose the Acer if you're looking for an affordable, large-screen option for everyday use and the Lenovo if you need top performance and screen quality for professional or demanding tasks. NotebookCheck

Marcus Schwarten | March 2021
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."

PCWorld

Matthew S. Smith | September 2022
"Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z16 tries has some success in its effort to tweak the ThinkPad formula. The laptop is attractive, yet still tame, and material quality is on par with the best Windows competition. I also like the smooth, responsive haptic touchpad and the wide range of modern connectivity. Yet the Z16 doesn’t fix ThinkPad’s typical weakness: value. Starting around $1,550, and more typically near $1,700, the Z16 finds itself facing alternatives that have better performance or an improved display for the same price, or less."
