The Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a larger screen and a numeric keypad, suitable for those who need a bigger display and tend to work with numbers, but it's heavier and not as portable. Its performance is adequate for general use, but it may fall short for 3D rendering or engineering. The Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14, on the other hand, is more expensive and has a sharper, smaller touchscreen with a higher refresh rate, which is great for fast-paced tasks and some gaming. It's significantly lighter and offers better performance for engineering, machine learning, and intensive gaming, along with longer battery life, making it ideal for on-the-go use and more demanding applications. NotebookCheck

Marcus Schwarten | March 2021
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."

PCWorld

Matthew S. Smith | May 2023
"The Lenovo Slim Pro 7 is an attractive, portable laptop that’s ideal if you need a combination of CPU and GPU performance. It also nails the fundamentals with solid connectivity, an enjoyable keyboard, a large touchpad, and top-notch webcam. Display quality is a weakness, but it’s an acceptable compromise for the laptop’s extremely competitive $1,199 MSRP. The Slim Pro 7 is a versatile, affordable laptop and hard to beat for the price."
