Choosing between the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i involves trade-offs. If a larger screen size is important, the Acer's 17.3 inch display tops the Lenovo's 16 inch. However, portability is better with the lighter Lenovo. Performance-wise, both have the same processor and graphics, but the Lenovo has double the RAM, which can mean smoother multitasking and better handling of more demanding tasks. Although both laptops have similar battery life, Lenovo edges out slightly in longevity. For those who prioritize a higher resolution and aspect ratio for tasks like document editing or web browsing, Lenovo offers a better screen. If budget is a consideration, the Acer is generally somewhat more expensive but does not necessarily offer a compelling advantage for the added cost. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, engineering and design, and content creation.
When considering screen quality for general use, both the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i have fair quality because they offer adequate resolution and brightness, which ensures comfortable viewing for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming. For engineering and design work, where precise color representation is crucial, the two laptops again have fair quality as their screens cover a reasonable range of color gamuts but may not fully satisfy professionals seeking exceptional color accuracy. As for gaming and 3D uses, both models fall short due to lower refresh rates that can't deliver as smooth motion as dedicated gaming laptops, although their resolutions and panel types provide a decent visual experience otherwise.

The Acer Aspire 5 17 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i both have the same CPU and integrated graphics, ensuring comparable performance for general use; the Acer has a larger screen, which might be preferred for multitasking and entertainment, but this makes it less portable compared to the slightly smaller and lighter Lenovo, which also offers a long battery life and a higher screen pixel density for sharper images. While the Acer includes a number pad on the keyboard and may appeal for easier number entry, the Lenovo stands out with it's higher RAM capacity for better multitasking and potentially smoother performance, along with a backlit keyboard and additional USB-C ports.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"The device is made for average work loads and if your work has a lot to do with online browsing, using apps that are not power-hungry and streaming videos. The looks are really good and the device in itself is not a heavy one. And with Intel 11th-gen Core processor, you might sail through most of your work without complaints."
