When choosing between the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the HP 250 G10, consider that the Acer Aspire likely offers better performance with a more powerful processor and faster graphics, which can be beneficial for activities such as photo editing or casual gaming. It also features a larger and higher quality display, which might be easier on the eyes for extended use. On the contrary, the HP 250 G10 is more budget-friendly and lighter, making it more portable. Its battery may last longer due to less power-consuming components, and it includes more RAM, which can be better for multitasking. However, it has a smaller screen with lower resolution, which might not be as good for media consumption or productivity tasks that benefit from more screen space. Make your decision based on whether performance and screen quality, or cost and portability, align better with your needs. Give Feedback

The Acer Aspire 5 17 is only fair for engineering and design, while the HP 250 G10 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 5 17, with a more powerful Intel i5 CPU and integrated Iris Xe graphics, outperforms the HP 250 G10 in engineering and design tasks, in part due to the HP's less capable Intel N200 processor and weaker Intel UHD Graphics. Furthermore, the Acer's larger, higher-resolution IPS screen provides better visual clarity and color accuracy, which are crucial for design work, compared to the smaller, lower-resolution TN panel of the HP.

The Acer Aspire 5 17 has a better screen than the HP 250 G10 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Acer Aspire 5 has a fair screen for general use due to its adequate resolution and brightness, which make for a clear and visible display, but it falls short for gaming and 3D because it lacks a high refresh rate which is crucial for smooth motion. The screen's fair quality in engineering and design is attributed to it providing enough color accuracy for non-professional work, but for professionals requiring precise color representation, it's not ideal. Conversely, the HP 250 G10's screen is rated poor across the board as it doesn't offer the necessary resolution, brightness, color range, or refresh rate to effectively meet the demands of general use, professional engineering and design work, or gaming and 3D applications.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the HP 250 G10 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"The HP 250 G10 is a decent budget device that surprises us with its high CPU frequencies under load. Still, our configuration has a Core i5-1335U which doesn’t require significant cooling, if choose a 28W P-series processor, maybe the situation with the clocks could be different. If you want to play some casual game after work, a memory in dual-channel is a must because it increases greatly the iGPU performance."
