The Acer Aspire 5 17 is more budget-friendly and offers decent performance with good screen size, making it suitable for general use and light tasks. It is also lighter, which enhances portability. However, the Gigabyte Aero 5 packs a more powerful processor and advanced graphics card, providing much better performance for 3D work, machine learning, gaming, and demanding engineering applications. It also features a higher resolution OLED screen, which is beneficial for creative work but comes at the expense of heavier weight and often a steeper price. Battery life is considerably better on the Aero 5, while the Aspire 5 compensates with longer battery life. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte Aero 5 and Acer Aspire 5 17 are both good for general use, though the Gigabyte Aero 5 is somewhat better.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 is suitable for general use due to its decent processor, ample RAM for everyday tasks, and a large 17.3-inch IPS screen providing clear picture quality, but it's less portable and has moderate battery life. The Gigabyte Aero 5, on the other hand, offers a more powerful CPU, double the RAM for more demanding applications, and a higher-resolution OLED display which is superior for color-sensitive work, although it comes with a higher price tag and lower portability due to its weight and size.

The Gigabyte Aero 5 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 5 17 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 has an integrated Intel GPU which is less powerful compared to the dedicated Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU in the Gigabyte Aero 5, making the latter significantly better for gaming and 3D applications which require stronger graphical processing. Additionally, factors like a higher screen refresh rate in the Aero 5 would contribute to smoother visuals during gaming and 3D rendering, enhancing the overall experience compared to the Aspire 5 17.

The Gigabyte Aero 5 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Gigabyte Aero 5's panel delivers sharper images and more vibrant colors due to its superior resolution and higher brightness levels compared to the Acer Aspire 5 17, offering a more vivid and clear viewing experience. In engineering and design, those relying on true-to-life color representation will appreciate the Aero 5's wider color gamuts, ensuring high fidelity in visual projects. However, for 3D and gaming, both laptops fall short, with the Aero 5's excellent visual detail undermined by a lower refresh rate that can't deliver the smooth motion that fast-paced scenes require.

"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"It is unfortunate that the Gigabyte AERO notebook series have seem to lost its charm, as it’s not exactly any much different from the AORUS series now. Regardless, content creators and designers will certainly still appreciate the features on the AERO 5 XE4, which are fundamental to their work. This largely revolved around the notebook’s display, which is colour calibrated and validated, high resolution (4K) and with great AMOLED colour representation. Now that the AERO 5 XE4 has improved its performance with the latest CPU and GPU, the professionals can also appreciate the improved productivity from the notebook."
