If you prioritize a larger screen and storage space at a more affordable price, the Acer Aspire 5 17 could be appealing. It boasts a 17.3-inch display and substantial storage, but has less memory and a less powerful processor than the Dell. The Dell Inspiron 16 5630, although typically more expensive, provides a more potent processor, more memory, a slightly smaller yet higher-resolution 16-inch display, and it comes with Windows 11 Pro instead of Home. Choose the Dell if you need more power for tasks like photo editing or light gaming, but if you're eyeing bigger size and savings, the Acer is worth considering. Give Feedback

The Dell Inspiron 16 5630 is very good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 5 17 is good.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5630 with more RAM, a higher-resolution and brighter screen, and a more powerful CPU stands out for general use compared to the Acer Aspire 5 17, which, while offering a larger screen, has less RAM, a lower-resolution display and a less powerful CPU, making the Dell a stronger performer especially for multitasking and media consumption but possibly less portable due to a smaller screen size.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5630 is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 17 is only fair.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5630 outperforms the Acer Aspire 5 17 for engineering and design use primarily due to its superior central processing unit (CPU), larger amount of random access memory (RAM), and higher-quality graphics processing unit (GPU); furthermore, it also has a better screen quality with greater resolution and color accuracy. While both laptops have their strengths, the Inspiron’s enhancements in these critical performance areas make it more suited for demanding tasks, though it may also be less portable and potentially cost more than the Aspire, which could still adequately serve users with less intensive requirements.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5630 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 5 17, with its fair screen quality, offers a balance of resolution and brightness suitable for everyday tasks but may lack the vibrancy and wide color range needed for intricate engineering and design work. The Dell Inspiron 16 5630's screen stands out with higher resolution and brightness, making it more suitable for detailed work in engineering and design due to better color representation. However, both struggle with gaming and 3D applications as their refresh rates are not as high as what's required for smooth visuals in these high-motion environments.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5630 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
