The Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a larger screen for those who prefer a more spacious display but is heavier, which may affect its portability. Conversely, the Dell Inspiron 15 3530 has a smaller screen with a higher refresh rate, making it more suitable for smooth video playback, and is lighter, hence easier to carry. The Inspiron also boasts double the memory of the Aspire, potentially offering better performance for multitasking. Both have similar storage capacity and processor performance. Battery life is longer on the Aspire, which could be advantageous for extended use without access to power. Choose based on your preference for screen size, portability, multitasking capability, and battery life. Give Feedback

The Dell Inspiron 15 3530 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
When choosing between the Acer Aspire 5 and the Dell Inspiron 15 for general use, both have satisfactory screen resolutions and brightness levels appropriate for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming; however, they may not stand out in terms of sharpness or color quality compared to higher-end displays. For engineering and design purposes, despite both laptops being adequate, professionals may find the color accuracy lacking due to limited coverage of professional color gamuts, making them less ideal for color-critical work. If you're interested in 3D applications or gaming, the lower refresh rates of these laptops' displays could lead to less fluid visuals, which is less than ideal for fast-paced or graphically intensive experiences.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Dell Inspiron 15 3530 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
