The Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a larger screen and more storage, ideal for multitasking and media consumption, but it's heavier, less portable, and typically costs more. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook 14 is more affordable, with a smaller screen and less storage, but it's lighter, making it better suited for frequent travel. Both have similar processors and RAM, ensuring good general performance, but if portability and budget are priorities, go for the Vivobook. If screen real estate and storage take precedence, and the price isn't an issue, the Aspire 5 is the better option. Give Feedback

The Acer Aspire 5 17 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 14 for software development, and content creation.
For general use, both the Acer Aspire 5 17 and ASUS Vivobook 14 have adequate display characteristics like resolution and brightness, which are essential for tasks like web browsing and document editing, offering a satisfactory visual experience. In engineering and design, however, both laptops lack wider color gamuts, like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, which are crucial for accurately rendering colors in professional graphics work, resulting in a fair but not ideal screen quality for these activities. For gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key, the lower refresh rates of both screens mean less fluid visuals compared to higher-end gaming laptops, making them less suitable for fast-paced or visually intensive tasks.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the ASUS Vivobook 14 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
