If you value top-notch performance, especially for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, and you don't mind spending more, the Apple MacBook Pro 16 (Late 2023) is an exceptional choice with its powerful processor and graphics, extensive battery life, and high-quality display. However, the Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a good balance of performance for general usage, a number pad on the keyboard, and it comes at a lower price, making it a solid option for everyday tasks and budget-conscious buyers. The MacBook Pro's display outshines the Acer with better color coverage, brightness, and refresh rate, which is important for creative professionals. Deciding between portability and performance, the MacBook Pro is slightly lighter and thinner despite having a smaller screen, whereas the Acer Aspire 5 provides a larger screen and a cheaper price tag at the cost of lower performance and a lesser display quality. If extended battery life is critical for you, the MacBook Pro significantly outperforms the Acer in this area. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Pro 16 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop has a screen that provides adequate color accuracy and brightness for tasks like web browsing and document editing, which aligns with the needs of general use and basic design work, but the lower resolution and modest color coverage may not satisfy more demanding engineering tasks or produce the vivid and precise colors required. The Apple MacBook Pro 16's screen excels in color reproduction, expansive color gamut, and clarity, making it ideal for professional design and engineering applications where details and color precision are crucial. However, for gaming and 3D applications, where a high refresh rate is vital for smooth visuals and responsive gameplay, both laptops may fall short, as their screens aren't tailored for the high refresh rates preferred in those fields.

"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"The Apple MacBook Pro 16 2023: M2 Max challenges GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The new MacBook Pro 16 2023 with the M2 Max SoC is the most powerful laptop Apple has on sale right now. While we do not get the expected performance and efficiency improvements from completely new 3 nm chips, which we expected ahead of the launch, the 2023 model is still a solid update. The CPU of the M2 Max can be up to 20 % faster than the old model and we also see an advantage of 25-30 % for the GPU with 38 cores. However, both components also consume more power, so the efficiency did not change that much under maximum load."
