If you prioritize gaming performance or handle engineering and 3D rendering tasks, the Acer Predator Triton 300, with its robust Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card, is a more suitable option, though it comes at a higher price. However, it has a smaller screen and slightly lesser battery life than the Acer Aspire 5 17. If cost, larger screen size, and longer battery life are more important for general use, and you don't require high-end graphics performance, the Aspire 5 17 with integrated graphics may be the better choice, especially for less resource-intensive tasks. Both have similar storage and high-quality screens but differ significantly in weight, battery life, and performance capabilities. Give Feedback

The Acer Predator Triton 300 is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 17 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 delivers fair performance for engineering and design due to its decent CPU and GPU, which are crucial for such tasks, yet it falls short when compared to the Acer Predator Triton 300, which has a powerful CPU, more RAM, and a superior GPU, making it better suited for more demanding engineering software and tasks that require high processing power and graphics performance. Additionally, the Triton 300 offers a high-quality IPS display, enhancing visual clarity for design work, although it is less portable and might have a louder operating noise than the Aspire 5, trade-offs that are often acceptable in pursuit of higher performance.

The Acer Predator Triton 300 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
When considering a laptop for general use, a screen that offers clear images and comfortable viewing is essential, which both the Aspire 5 17 and Predator Triton 300 provide with their decent resolution and brightness, but they may lack the premium panel technology found in higher-end models. For engineering and design tasks, accurate color representation is crucial, and both laptops offer good screen quality by covering a range of color gamuts, ensuring that designs and models will display with reliable color fidelity. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fluid motion is key, the lower refresh rates on both of these devices mean they won't be as effective in delivering the smooth visuals preferred by gamers and professionals working with rapid motion graphics.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Acer Predator Triton 300 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"In our particular review configuration, the Acer Predator Triton 300 turned out to be a fairly powerful gaming notebook. Both CPU and GPU performance were at a high level, and the aluminum case turned out to be fairly robust. Only the display lid could have been a bit more robust. For customers on a budget that do not mind tinkering with the device’s fan management the Acer Predator Triton 300 can be worth a closer look."
