When choosing between the Acer Aspire 5 and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7, consider the following: The Acer is more budget-friendly and offers a solid performance for everyday tasks and light productivity. However, it's not geared towards heavy graphics or gaming due to its integrated graphics card. The Lenovo, on the other hand, is more expensive but comes with a powerful processor and a dedicated graphics card which suits intensive tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning. It also has a higher refresh rate screen, making it great for smooth gameplay. The Lenovo has a larger battery, which may offer longer unplugged use, but also makes it heavier, impacting portability. The Acer is lighter and thus easier to carry around but may have a shorter battery life. Ultimately, if cost is key and your usage is general, go with the Acer, but if performance in demanding tasks and gaming is a priority, the Lenovo is the better choice despite its higher price tag. The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 5, with a fair screen, meets the basic needs for clarity, detail, and visibility in general use but may not offer the vibrant colors and wide viewing angles preferred for more specialized tasks. The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 provides a higher quality display with better color accuracy and consistency, making it suitable for engineering and design work where precise color representation is critical. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short due to lower refresh rates, which can lead to less fluid motion and a less immersive experience.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
