If budget is a primary concern, the Acer Aspire 5 15 offers good general use capabilities at a more affordable price. However, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i, while pricier, delivers stronger performance for gaming, 3D applications, or machine learning tasks, as well as better build quality. Choose the Acer for everyday tasks like web browsing, office work, and media consumption if you want to save money. Opt for the Lenovo if you need higher performance for demanding applications and are willing to pay for it, but note that its gaming-focused design may not be as portable or discreet as the Acer's more traditional styling. NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | November 2022
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."

PCMag

Mark Knapp | August 2023
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
