The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a more budget-friendly option and will handle everyday tasks effectively with decent performance from its Intel i5 processor and integrated graphics. However, if you require superior performance for demanding applications, such as heavy multimedia editing, 3D rendering, or high-end gaming, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X, with its more potent Intel i9 processor and Nvidia RTX graphics, will be far more capable, albeit at a higher price point. The Aorus also offers a higher resolution display and faster refresh rate, enhancing visual fidelity and smoothness in fast-paced scenarios. On the downside, its superior performance comes with increased weight, making the Acer a more portable option. The Acer will likely have longer battery life, beneficial for extended use without access to power, while the Gigabyte's battery life is usually shorter due to its more power-hungry components. The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 5 15's display, while adequate for tasks like browsing and document editing due to its resolution and brightness, lacks the broader color gamuts necessary for precision in engineering and design work. The Gigabyte Aorus 15X offers a superior visual experience with higher brightness and better color reproduction, making it suitable for more color-critical tasks such as photo editing or CAD work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short due to their lower refresh rates, which can make fast-paced visual content less smooth and immersive.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the Gigabyte Aorus 15X compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
