The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a budget-friendly choice with a larger screen, making it suitable for general use and multimedia consumption. Its bigger size may reduce portability, and it has a relatively standard performance that aligns with its price point, which could limit use in more demanding tasks like 3D or engineering work. In contrast, the Framework Laptop 13 (2023) is more expensive, but comes with a focus on repairability and customizability. It has a smaller, higher-resolution screen, potentially making it better for portability and clear visuals, but with less screen real estate. Its performance is likely sufficient for a broader range of tasks, including more intensive ones. Consider the Framework if future upgrades and repairs are important to you, as it is designed with this in mind. Give Feedback

The Framework Laptop 13 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The Acer Aspire 5's screen quality is sufficient for tasks like web browsing and document editing thanks to its decent resolution and brightness, but it isn't ideal for precision work or entertainment due to limited color range and lower refresh rate. The Framework Laptop's superior resolution and brightness make it more suitable for engineering and design where color accuracy is crucial; however, both laptops lack the high refresh rates needed for smooth visuals in gaming and 3D applications. The panel types on both machines are adequate for everyday tasks and professional work but may fall short for the demands of high-frame-rate gaming.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the Framework Laptop 13 (2023) compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"If you’re thinking of investing in your first Framework, now is the time. The kinks and rough edges have all been smoothed out and this is a very nice machine with a bright, upgradable future. The only reason I can think of to wait is the AMD model, which I’ll be sure to test as soon as I can get my hands on one."
