The Acer Aspire 5 15 offers a balance of performance and portability at a generally lower price point, making it suitable for everyday use and moderate multitasking. If battery life and a slightly lighter build are important to you, this might be the more convenient option. However, the Dell Inspiron 16 5625, while often somewhat more expensive, comes with a more powerful AMD processor which might be better suited for more intensive tasks such as video editing or other demanding applications. Additionally, it offers a higher resolution display which, alongside its 16-inch screen, could be advantageous for those prioritizing screen real estate and clarity, potentially making it a better fit for tasks like graphic design or editing. Consider your main use cases, whether that's general computing, heavier workloads, or the need for a screen with greater size and clarity, and weigh these against the value proposition of each laptop within your budget. The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 15 for content creation, and software development.
In general use scenarios, both the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 have displays that offer adequate resolution and brightness, providing a comfortable viewing experience for daily tasks like browsing the internet or working with documents. For engineering and design purposes, their screens fall short in providing the wide color gamuts needed for precise color work, which is why they are rated fair and not higher. When it comes to 3D and gaming, the importance of a high refresh rate is paramount to reduce motion blur and provide smoother visuals, and since both laptops have poorer refresh rates, they are considered less suitable for these tasks.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"I think there is fair value in the Inspiron 16 this year. Very little has changed with the laptop and my opinion hasn’t really changed either. In other words, I like it. Overall, I think the pros far outweigh the cons of this laptop and the price is certainly justifiable. I found this to be a great typer and I could potentially work all day on this machine, provided I don’t need a graphics card."
