The Acer Aspire 5 15 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for software development, and content creation.
The Acer Aspire 5 and ASUS Vivobook 15 have adequate resolution and brightness for performing everyday tasks but may lack the vibrancy and sharpness desired by professionals. Both laptops offer fair color accuracy and range, which are crucial for engineering and design work, but may not meet the high standards required by industry professionals accustomed to specialized monitors. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both models fall short due to lower refresh rates, which can hinder the smoothness and responsiveness of fast-paced visuals that gamers and 3D designers value.

The Acer Aspire 5 15, with its slightly superior Intel Iris Xe graphics, performs better in gaming and 3D applications than the ASUS Vivobook 15's Intel UHD Graphics, yet both have screens with a basic refresh rate which isn't ideal for fast-paced gaming. While the Acer has a little more horsepower for these tasks, remember that neither is specifically built for high-end gaming, and improvements in CPU and screen quality will offer some benefit but not transform these machines into dedicated gaming devices.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the ASUS Vivobook 15 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
