The Acer Aspire 5 15 offers affordability and is a decent choice for general use with adequate performance for everyday tasks. In contrast, the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, while typically more expensive, provides a more powerful processor and graphics suitable for gaming, 3D work, and machine learning. The ASUS also has a higher screen refresh rate beneficial for gaming, but it is heavier, which affects portability. The Acer is lighter and thus more portable but has a lower battery capacity compared to the ASUS, meaning it might not last as long on a single charge. The choice depends on whether you prioritize price and portability, or performance and gaming capabilities. Give Feedback

The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 5 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 15 is less suited for gaming and 3D because it comes with a lower-end GPU (Intel i5-1335U Iris Xe) and a standard screen refresh rate of 60Hz, while the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is better equipped with a higher-end GPU (AMD RX 7600S) and a much higher screen refresh rate of 165Hz, providing smoother visuals. Additionally, the quality of the CPU and screen are better in the ASUS, making it more suitable for demanding games and 3D applications.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 15 is suitable for engineering and design use due to its capable Intel i5 processor with integrated Iris Xe graphics which support everyday design tasks, and a full HD IPS display, making it a cost-effective option with decent performance and screen quality. On the other hand, the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 stands out with its more powerful AMD Ryzen 7 processor and AMD RX 7600S GPU, which enable better performance in demanding engineering software and design applications, complemented by a higher resolution screen that offers a better aspect ratio and color coverage, albeit with a trade-off in weight and portability.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Aspire 5 15's screen may have suitable resolution and brightness, but the panel type might not provide as wide viewing angles or as vivid colors as the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, which likely has a better panel offering crisp, clear images. When it comes to engineering and design, the ASUS likely surpasses the Acer in reproducing a broader range of colors due to superior color gamuts, crucial for precision in visual work. However, for Gaming and 3D applications, despite having good resolution and panel type, both laptops fall short on providing high refresh rates necessary for smooth motion rendering.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"The A16 makes an excellent case against more expensive laptops like the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 and the MSI Katana GF76, especially if you’re into 1080p gaming. However, although its affordable, it doesn’t skimp on performance or a robust chassis. But for me, the biggest factor that sets it apart from these options is its incredible battery life. In my time reviewing laptops, I can’t remember when I last saw a gaming laptop lasted 11 and a half hours on a single charge, which makes the A16, in my book, truly outstanding."
