The Acer Aspire 5 15 is less expensive and offers a good balance for everyday use and moderate work tasks with its full HD display and decent processing capabilities, perfect if you're conscious of your budget. However, if you're seeking better performance for more intensive applications and prefer a sharper, higher-resolution display, the Acer Swift 14 with its faster processor makes a compelling case, though it comes at a higher cost and the difference is quite significant. The Swift is also more portable due to its lighter weight and smaller size, advantageous if mobility is a priority for you. Keep in mind that the Swift's improved specs will also consume more battery, potentially shortening the time between charges. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift 14 and Acer Aspire 5 15 are both only fair for gaming and AI, though the Acer Swift 14 is somewhat better.
The Acer Swift 14 is better suited for gaming and 3D than the Acer Aspire 5 15 principally because the Swift 14 has a more powerful CPU, which is important for gaming and 3D applications. Both laptops have the same GPU and screen refresh rate, which are very important for these tasks, but the superior screen quality of the Swift 14, with higher resolution and brightness, also contributes to a better gaming and 3D experience.

The Acer Swift 14 is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 15, with ample RAM, a capable CPU, and dedicated GPU, is suitable for engineering and design tasks; however, its larger size and weight make it less portable compared to the Acer Swift 14, which offers a higher resolution touchscreen, advanced CPU, and superior screen quality, crucial for precision in detailed design work, but has a higher price tag due to these premium features. Both laptops have qualities like backlit keyboards and good build quality, which are conducive to long working sessions for engineering and design professionals, but the Swift 14's lighter weight and quieter operation noise offer additional comfort for mobile use.

The Acer Swift 14 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 5 15, with its fair screen quality for general use, likely offers a decent resolution and average brightness, making it suitable for everyday tasks but less ideal when fine detail or vibrant displays are needed, as in engineering or design work where the color gamut becomes crucial. The Acer Swift 14's superior screen quality benefits engineering and design professionals who require precise color accuracy for their work but, like the Aspire 5 15, isn't optimal for gaming and 3D applications due to a lower refresh rate that can't deliver the smooth visuals demanded by such tasks. Both laptops are less suited for gaming and 3D where high refresh rates, alongside resolution and panel technology, contribute significantly to a more immersive and responsive experience.

"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Acer Swift 14 is good for school use. Its compact design makes it easy to carry around, and its battery lasts easily through a typical school day. You can configure the laptop with an FHD+ or QHD+ display; both look sharp and get bright enough to combat glare. The keyboard feels tactile but can be a little tiring to type on over an extended period, and while the touchpad is small, it's responsive to all movements and gestures. Its Intel 13th Gen. CPU can handle nearly every type of workload; however, its integrated graphics perform poorly, so it isn't ideal for students in technical fields like 3D graphics."
