The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is less expensive, offering good general use with a smaller screen and touch capabilities, and is lightweight for portability. Conversely, the Razer Blade 17, much more expensive, provides top-tier performance for gaming, 3D modeling and machine learning tasks with a larger, high-resolution display, but is heavier, affecting portability. The Acer has longer battery life and runs Windows 11S, suitable for daily tasks and students, while the Razer, with Windows 11 Home, excels in intensive tasks for professionals and gamers. Choose the Acer for cost-efficiency and mobility or the Razer for high performance and specialized tasks. Give Feedback

The Razer Blade 17 is excellent for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The Razer Blade 17 offers superior performance for engineering and design work due to its high-end Intel i9 processor, substantial RAM, and powerful Nvidia RTX GPU, which contribute to robust processing and graphics capabilities, essential for demanding applications and rendering tasks. In contrast, the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14, while offering decent performance with an Intel i3 processor and integrated graphics, may struggle with intensive workloads due to its more modest hardware specifications, making it more suited for lighter tasks despite its good portability and versatility as a 2-in-1 device.

The Razer Blade 17 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, a laptop with a bright, high-resolution display offers clear and vibrant visuals, making the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 adequate, while the Razer Blade 17's superior brightness and resolution enhance the user experience even further. In the context of engineering and design, the Razer Blade 17's display supports a wider range of colors, providing better accuracy for professional tasks, whereas the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14's more limited color gamut may not be as precise for detailed work. However, when it comes to 3D applications and gaming, both the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and Razer Blade 17 are at a disadvantage due to their lower refresh rates, which can result in less fluid motion compared to displays designed specifically for these high-intensity visual tasks.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"Our test configuration of the Blade 17 targets gamers and creative professionals. A Core i9-12900H processor, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU (175 watts TGP after the BIOS update, 16 GB of VRAM), and 32 GB of working memory equip the laptop for video processing, rending, and 4k gaming at the highest level. In addition, a fast PCIe-4 SSD (1 TB) ensures short load and storage times. With the Blade 17 (Early 2022), Razer delivers a successful and powerful work device for creative professionals. But this also has its price."
