The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is less expensive and offers a touchscreen with a larger 14-inch display, which might make it suitable for general use and media consumption. In contrast, the LG Ultra 13, while more expensive and lacking a touchscreen, provides better performance with a faster processor, double the storage, and more RAM, making it a better option for more intensive tasks such as 3D rendering and engineering software. The LG also offers better battery life and is lighter, enhancing its portability. Neither laptop is suitable for intensive gaming, but for tasks that require a powerful CPU and ample storage, the LG Ultra 13 stands out, whereas for budget-conscious users who need a larger touchscreen display for daily tasks, the Acer might be more appealing. How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the LG Ultra 13 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The 13.3-inch LG Gram is a fine fit if you need to travel as light as possible for as long as possible without spending a fortune to do it. It might not be particularly sturdy or have an eye-catching design and its webcam is less than ideal, but with its sharp touch display, comfortable backlit keyboard, responsive touchpad and a fingerprint reader for extra security, the Gram makes a respectible everyday laptop for business or school work."
