The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is more affordable, lighter, and has a smaller screen for portability. However, its storage, memory, and processing power are limited, which might slow you down if you handle demanding tasks. In contrast, the Lenovo Slim 7 16 is more expensive with considerable advantages in performance, larger high-resolution screen, and a better battery, making it suitable for demanding applications like 3D rendering or engineering software. If budget is a primary concern and you need a computer for basic tasks, the Acer might suit you, while the Lenovo is geared towards users needing high performance and larger screen real estate. Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"At $1,011, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro is a real bargain among full-sized laptops, with a handsome 16-inch, 16:10 aspect ratio touch screen, a speedy CPU, a comfortable keyboard, ample memory, and a roomy solid-state drive. It's not a blazing gaming rig or mobile workstation, but it doesn't pretend to be. Its biggest negative is that it may be hard to find—during our review, it sold out and was marked "Temporarily Unavailable" on Lenovo's site."
